On November 10, 2017, the Armenian College and Philanthropic Academy, Kolkata, conducted its annual art competition – Fantasia 2017. The competition commenced post lunch, at 2.45 p.m, and continued for the duration of an hour. The enthusiastic participation of the entire school, from the preparatory to the senior classes, marked an optimistic inauguration of the event.
The students were categorized under three distinct groups: the Preparatory Group consisting of Prep 1 and 2, the Junior Group consisting of Classes 3, 4, 5 and 6, and the Senior Group consisting of Classes 7, 8, 9 and 10. Each group was provided with four optional topics which encouraged and optimised their creative potentials.
The wide range of topics fired the imagination of the young enthusiasts who poured out on paper the vibrant expressions of their innermost feelings through lines, shapes, textures and hues. Deeply immersed in their world of fantasy, the young artists weaved their strands of emotions in composite fabric of colours, transforming the Tabula Rasa into a vivacious palate encapsulating the essence of their artistic disposition.
The event concluded at 3.45 p.m and the students waited with pulsating hearts in anticipation of the result. The plethora of brilliant paintings set a definitive challenge to the judges in the selection of the position holders in the competition.
